Laboratory Services

When is Laboratory Testing Needed?

In most cases, your nutrition labeling needs can be analyzed through a database using your detailed recipes; however, sometimes laboratory services are needed. Here are some examples of food laboratory testing needs:

  • If your recipes are too complicated for a database analysis, then a sample would need to be sent to a lab for a laboratory nutrition analysis.
  • If you are selling your food product in a retail environment, then your retailer will more than likely require a shelf life test or other food safety, microbiological analysis.
  • Testing may also be necessary to detect the traces of allergens in your food product.
  • Pet food manufacturers may need toxicity and shelf life analysis done for their products.
  • An olive oil manufacturer may want to test the level of olive oil purity to validate marketing claims on your labels.
  • Foods that absorb flavors such as beef jerky, deep fried foods and heavily marinated foods will require laboratory nutrition analysis.
  • Foods that are fermented such as tea and beer required laboratory nutrition analysis to properly measure actual nutrition content.

Whatever your food testing need maybe – RL Food Testing can help.
