What do I need to do in order to get a nutrition facts label from you so that I can use the food analysis lab?

  • We need 3 pieces of information.
    1) Serving size in grams or ounces in 1 serving. Or the number of servings from your single recipe batch
    2) Detail recipe ingredients and the amounts
    3) number of servings per selling unit. Send that information to me via email and be sure to provide ingredients for items that are not pure

What is required for shelf life testing in the food test lab?

  • We need to know the length of time product is to be tested. We also need 6 separately packaged samples of 150 grams each, sent to us for testing. Prepayment is required of all services.

When is food laboratory analysis required for nutrition facts?

  • Laboratory analysis for nutrition facts is very expensive and only required when for complex recipes such as fermented teas, beer or anything where the nutrients are changing with time

How long does it take to do food laboratory nutrition analysis?

  • 10-14 business days for laboratory nutrition analysis versus same day turnaround for non laboratory nutrition analysis

Do you do reverse formulations?

  • Yes, deformulation is a complex process and not an exact science.  We work with a lab partner to conduct this kind of work.  Please call us to discuss your options.

Why do I need an HACCP Audit Plan?

  • If you want your facility to be USDA certified, you will need a HACCP plan. HACCP stands for Hazard Analysis & Critical Control Points. Typically, larger firms charge upwards of $10,000 for an audit of your HACCP plan. We can do an audit and make recommendations on your plan starting at $2,500

What do I do with my food nutrition fact label once I have it?

  • We can incorporate it into your artwork for a fee, or you can have your graphic artist do the same. Alternatively, you can print the labels and place them on your package; however, there are guidelines from the FDA on size and placement.
